Start with the details, start with the little things—proper maintenance of your air-source heat pump water heater doesn’t have to take much time or effort, and it’s not as complicated as you might think. Maintenance and daily operation play a crucial role in ensuring optimal performance of your air-source heat pump water heater, and consistent daily maintenance can help you achieve twice the results with half the effort:
First, determine the installation location and method:
A. Choose a well-ventilated installation site with unobstructed exhaust flow. Do not install the unit in an enclosed space, as this may impair the outdoor unit’s ability to extract heat from the air.
B. When installing the outdoor unit on a rooftop, consider wind direction to ensure the exhaust outlet is not directly facing the wind. Additionally, ensure proper lightning protection measures are in place.
C. If the unit is installed on the ground, avoid areas with strong winds. A foundation at least 150 mm high must be constructed, and the unit must be installed level with a tilt of less than 5 degrees. Place 10 mm to 20 mm rubber shock-absorbing pads between the unit and the foundation.
II. Pre-startup Inspection:
A. Check that all air has been purged from the piping.
B. Verify that the water temperature sensor is reading the correct temperature.
C. Confirm that the water tank is full.
D. Check that the gate valves and switches are open.
